"More than a year before the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage nationwide, New York Times columnist Ross Douthat had written that once the decision was handed down, the winning liberals would “recognize its power.” There would be no negotiation then. “Instead, all that’s left is the timing of the final victory — and for the defeated to find out what settlement the victors will impose.”
Well, now we know. We really knew before the Tushnet essay appeared. Just ask the florists, photographers, and bakers who have been dragged before tribunals. Ask the former Fire Chief of Atlanta. Ask a Christian student at your local college or university."

Some of houses appears as if there is no damage, but their
gardens have been collapsed and traces of fire have been detected.
When we entered the houses everything is destroyed, windows are
broken, white goods are destroyed with equipments such as
sledgehammers. Almost all the furnishings in the houses are
damaged. Items such as computer, tablet and mobile phones are
stolen. Photo albums, underwears and other clothes have been
placed on the floor. Racist, sexist notes that glorify violence and
against people’s valües and beliefs are written on walls. Shit have
been made in the houses, there are traces of urine inside houses.
Foods that have been stocked are stolen. The privacy and human
dignity have been ignored. The treatments are worse than enemies

Urgent action needed for Iraqi Refugees in Rojava (May 4)
Escaping from the ISIS-occupied territory in Iraq, 1200 Iraqi refugees on May 4 crossed into Rojava, northern Syria, where they are placed in multiple refugee camps all founded by local civil society organizations. The Iraqi refugees started to head toward Rojava since late April 2016 – the number’s now reached 5000 Iraqis, mainly women and children, and they have all suffered from terrorist threats while fleeing their occupation.
The route taking refugees into Rojava has since been secured by border units from the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) along with Asayish security forces. The civil organizations in Rojava however have faced lack of enough resources to help the refugees. Sozdar Hisên, co-director of Hawl Refugee Camp says water, food and medicine are desperately needed to recover the refugees from long days of walking and dehydration, “the camp that we ourselves have made now need to be extended due to the growing number of incoming refugees, and that needs support from outside,” she added.
