Ronald Reagan

G.K. Chesterton sagde engang ”at verden vil aldrig lide under mangel på vidundere, kun
forundringen over vidundere”
måtte lære at drage omsorg for hinanden.

Labour: We must 'do God’ to fight anti-Christian persecution
Douglas Alexander, Labour's shadow foreign secretary, says politicians should speak out about the persecution of Christians in the Middle East, and not be put off doing so for fear of causing offence

"The Labour Party has admitted that politicians should stop feeling a “sense of embarrassment” about discussing God.
Douglas Alexander, a senior frontbencher, suggested that public figures have allowed “political correctness” to prevent them talking about faith and the persecution of Christians in the Middle East.
In a thinly-veiled attack on the Tony Blair era, when Alastair Campbell, the then communications director in Downing Street, said “we don’t do God”, Mr Alexander warned that people should have the courage to speak up for Christians without fear of causing offence.
Mr Alexander, the shadow foreign secretary, spoke out to voice his concerns about growing harassment and attacks suffered by Christians in the Middle East.
Writing in the Telegraph, he warns that the mounting persecution of Christians is a “story that goes largely untold”, describing those who have spoken out on the issue, including the Prince of Wales, as lone voices."

"First it was the airport at Bangui where we found some of the 35,000 who aid groups say are living (very) rough there among the hangars and planes.
A couple of days later we were in the Bangui monastery in the mud and human excrement – 15,000 at least there.
Today UNESCO said that there were 20,000 at the Don Bosco Catholic educational institute.
As we walked around with one of their staff he said casually there are at least 20 such sites around this town where Christians stay because they are terrified of the Muslim Seleka militia still going house to house by night looking for people to kill. Don Bosco is by far the best organised of these places.
They have speakers rigged up by locals so children can skip around and dance. So they can forget.
There’s a football pitch where the inevitable Arsenal-shirted lads are showing their fluid step-over skills in 35c of equatorial humidity (I could barely breathe) and what is it about the preponderance of Arsenal tops here anyway? "

"German Chancellor Angela Merkel: "His name will always be associated with the fight against the oppression of his people and with overcoming the apartheid regime. Not even years in prison could break Nelson Mandela or make him bitter - a new, better South Africa eventually emerged out of his message of reconciliation ... Nelson Mandela's shining example and his political legacy of non-violence and the condemnation of all forms of racism will continue to inspire people around the world for many years to come."

Nelson Mandela's shining example and his political legacy of non-violence and the condemnation of all forms of racism will continue to inspire people around the world for many years to come."
Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, in a statement: "Barbara and I mourn the passing of one of the greatest believers in freedom we have had the privilege to know. As President, I watched in wonder as Nelson Mandela had the remarkable capacity to forgive his jailers following 26 years of wrongful imprisonment - setting a powerful example of redemption and grace for us all. He was a man of tremendous moral courage, who changed the course of history in his country."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a statement: "Nelson Mandela was of the most honorable figures of our time. He was the father of his people, a man of vision, a freedom fighter who rejected violence. He set a personal example for his people in the long years he spent in prison. He was never arrogant. He worked to mend the tears in South African society and with his character managed to prevent outbursts of racial hatred. He will be remembered as the father of new South Africa and as an outstanding moral leader."
Former U.S. President George W. Bush, in a statement: "President Mandela was one of the great forces for freedom and equality of our time. He bore his burdens with dignity and grace, and our world is better off because of his example. This good man will be missed, but his contributions will live on forever."
Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny: "The name Mandela stirred our conscience and our hearts. It became synonymous with the pursuit of dignity and freedom across the globe. Today, a great light has been extinguished. The boy from the Transkei has finished his long walk. His journey transformed not just South Africa, but humanity itself. As we mark his passing, we give thanks for the gift of Nelson Mandela. We ask that his spirit continues to inspire, guide and enlighten us as we strive to bring freedom and dignity to the family of man, our brothers and sisters, across the world.""
